چکیده مقاله
ABSTRACT
Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is one of the most valuable tropical fruit crops cultivated extensively in the southern
regions of Iran, particularly in Hormozgan Province. In September and October of 2022, symptoms including leaf
wilting, twig and branch dieback and necrosis were observed in several mango orchards in this region. Samples were
collected from symptomatic trees, and a fungal species was isolated from the infected tissues. According to
morphological features of the asexual structures, Neoscytalidium dimidiatum was identified. Pathogenicity was
confirmed through Koch’s postulates. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of mango dieback caused
by N. dimidiatum in Iran.
